Thermal Imaging Survey

Identify Why Your Home Is Losing Heat

Thermal Grey.jpg

How are Thermal
Cameras used?

- Identify heat loss from walls in property

- Check Insulation quality in property

- Find solutions to potential damp issues

- Check the quality of Windows and Doors.

- Identify heat loss from roofing

How do they Work?

The camera visually highlights areas where warm air is escaping from your home by detecting differences in temperature. These differences in temperature are effectively cold spots in your property which could potentially lead to damp, condensation and mould. These cold spots could be caused by faulty or no insulation – although there are other reasons for them such as air leaking around window or doorframes.

When can they be carried out?

In order to enable an accurate thermal imaging survey, it should be carried out in the evening (or early morning subject to weather conditions) when your heating is on, in dry conditions and with no wind.

For these reasons, we never carry out a heat loss survey unless the conditions are right, thus, preventing inaccurate results. If you’ve had a heat loss survey on your home before and it wasn’t carried out in these conditions, it may be inaccurate.
